Choosing a partial: cast metal vs. flexible nylon vs. acetal
Each partial material trades off rigidity, esthetics, and reparability, and the right call depends on the case. Cast metal frameworks are the most rigid and supportive — strong for longer spans and straightforward to reline later, with the trade-off of clasps that can show. Flexible nylon is metal-free, lightweight, and the most discreet — a good fit for esthetic-priority cases or a metal sensitivity, though it's more involved to reline. Acetal sits in between: metal-free like nylon but more rigid, useful when you want tooth- or gum-toned clasps with more support. We hand-finish every partial regardless of material.
